A $30,000 renewal grant to Citizens for a Better Greenville (CBG) youth- and parent-led education organizing work in the Delta to improve special education, reduce student drop-outs, reform student discipline policies and to increase funding and community involvement in Greenville public schools. CBG will organize local parents and students to get full funding for Mississippi public education and fight for the funding and implementation of wrap-around care systems that bridge schools and communities to provide supports for children. CGB will continue to play a lead role in a number of regional and national collaboratives including the Mississippi Catalyst Roundtable, the Greenville Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative, the Choice Alliance for students with disabilities, and the Dignity in Schools Campaign.
