The Journey for Justice Alliance (J4J) was formed in 2013 as a result of community-based organizations across the Country working collaboratively with scholars, and labor institutions to win sustainable, equitable school improvement. The Alliance is a diverse network of 35 community based organizations in 22 cities that accurately reflect the people directly impacted by public education policy in the United States. Through local and national coordinated community organizing, J4J works to move policy and resources to achieve evidence-based, community-driven school improvement in local school districts and nationally. Over the next year, with $20,000 in support from Hazen, the Journey for Justice Alliance (J4J) will support organizing for Sustainable Community Schools in many local cities where they have member organizations and bring national attention to these efforts through coordinated local actions and media campaigns
