One-year renewal grants of $30,000 in 2012 and 2013 will support Nollie Jenkins Family Center’s organizational development and its parent- and youth-led education organizing work to develop a multi-district quality schools model, reform zero tolerance student discipline policies and to increase parent/student engagement in education reform throughout Mississippi. Over the next year, Nollie’s campaign work will focus on the local and regional Prevention of Schoolhouse 2 Jailhouse programs, local school curriculum reform and to increase the organization’s adult and youth organizing capacity.
