The Alliance for Quality Education is launching the effort on the 10th anniversary of a 2006 court ruling that found New York State had been shortchanging its schools.
In a new report set for release Sunday the teacher union-backed group claims the state and Gov. Cuomo owe school districts $4.8 billion, including more than $2 billion to New York City schools under the lawsuit known as the Campaign for Fiscal Equity.
