The Hazen Foundation made renewal grants of $30,000 in 2012 and 2013 to support this multi-racial faith-based organizing group to build out its racial justice and education reform work to close the racial achievement gap and to hold the Minnesota Department of Education accountable to pursuing racial equity outcomes. Through its local and state organizing work, ISAIAH seeks to further systemic change by calling for state-level leadership from the Governor and Minnesota Department of Education to demand racial justice. Over the next year, ISAIAH will continue to push for statewide coordination, regional vision, shared learning and mutual accountability by calling for state-level reforms in programs and school funding toward school desegregation and racial equity in educational outcomes. ISAIAH has also helped create an affordable housing subgroup within the regional EEOC organizing coalition to push for pro-integrative housing policy and connect the dots between housing and education.
