99 Rootz is a youth program of Power California specifically based in the rural Central Valley. They build leadership pathways and spaces for young people to grow personally and become politically engaged in the small towns that surroundtheRoute 99 highway. Their work includes re-­‐connecting youth with their culture, political education, and electoral organizing. In 2019, 99 Rootz passed an Empower Young Voters resolution in the Merced Union High School District, which will create opportunities for every eligible student in the school district to be pre-­‐registered to vote.
