Urban Peace Movement (UPM) is a youth-­‐led criminal justice reform grassroots organizing group playing a catalytic role in organizing for the release of youth from California’s jails, detention centers, and juvenile facilities. UPM’s participatory community defense and accountability of prosecutors at the Alameda County Court has successfully blocked prosecutions of youth victims of sex trafficking and has intervened to block the transferring of juvenile cases to adult courts. This general operating support grant will support UPM’s flexibility to be agile in the midst of COVID-­‐19 emergency response.
